It finally became a reality, fulfilling an old wish.

This club aims to bring together all those who have completed a race Horizontes, on foot or by bicycle, with 100 or more kilometers. However, the ambition goes beyond being just a social group. We intend to take advantage of the “intelligence” of this group to benefit causes and people. The level of maturity is high, many of the members are in life stages over 45 years old.

The invitation was launched and surprises were soon arriving. We received visits from distinguished friends from the USA and Spain, who traveled with the sole purpose of enriching the event. In these meetings, we discover the people behind the corridors, getting to know their families, interests and personalities. Furthermore, we realize that we have an incredible “library” of information and a vast portfolio of photographs that mark the history of ultra-distance races in Portugal.

We discovered, for example, that David Faustino has already covered more than 5000km in our races alone. And Levi has already crossed the Atlantic 20 times to be with us. It was an honor to see Glória Serrazina again, number 1 in the Oh Meu Deus, return to ultra distances. It was also gratifying to see young initiates like the brothers Mickael and Nicola Reis or under 23 Daniel Ramos accept the invitation and honor us with their presence at the Club dinner.

At dinner, we officially founded the Finishers' Club, distinguishing with a lapel pin all those present who conquered long distances, as well as those who, even though they did not participate in the races, contributed to the happiness of the runners.

Many were unable to be present, but we hope that more will join this group in the future. This was just the first step to something bigger.
